Families Under Fire (Ontario Canada)

A mixed method design wherein refugee youth interview their own families to examine the everyday experiences and overall wellbeing of refugee families in Ontario.

Using a mixed method design that engages refugee youth in interviewing their own families, the Families Under Fires study examines the everyday experiences and overall wellbeing of refugee families in Ontario who have fled their country of origin due to war, persecution, or conflict. By learning about families’ displacement journeys, resettlement, and everyday experiences of living in Canada, findings will inform programs and policies to support new refugee families who have resettled in Canada.
