Building Futures: Sociocultural Effects of an Empowerment Initiative
for Young Displaced Rohingya Women
Using interview methods that provide insight into the meanings that participants give to their circumstances, this research will illuminate the influence of education and training of young Rohingya women on sociocultural factors including female empowerment, gendered norms, attitudes toward women, family-decision making, and community dynamics. A socioecological framework will allow for the
examination of interrelationships among individuals in and across various
interdependent systems such as families, communities, society, and culture.
